■ Day tour description:

- Meet the tour guide at your hotel for pick-up. Start the trip to Alexandria (220 KM ~ 150 minutes), There will be a pause at the middle of the way for toilets and coffee. Enjoy a day tour away from Cairo, watch the monuments of Alexandria that belongs to different periods of the Egyptian history, watch the Mediterranean sea.

- Visit the Catacombs of Kom El-Shokafa, an underground necropolis, built by the Greeks and the Romans in Alexandria during the last century BC and the 1st century AD. The necropolis is of three underground level, some of the sarcophaguses are decorated. Watch the carved walls and the mixed art that found no where in Egypt except in Alexandria. - Visit Pompey's Pillar a triumphal column built at the 3rd century AD, to honor the name of the Roman Emperor Augustus Diocletian. - Visit Qaitbay Citadel, it was built by Sultan Qaitbay at the 15th century AD, to protect the country and the Muslim Mamluk dynasty from the Ottoman (Turkish) threaten. - Visit Alexandria library, a huge modern construction inaugurated in 2002, that was built nearby the place of the famous original Alexandria library. The bibliotheque of Alexandria has the biggest reading library hall found in Egypt of seven levels plus four conference halls, planetarium and seven modern art galleries.
